Single Stream Curbside Recycling Program

The City of Scottsbluff and the City of Gering both offer Single Stream Curbside Recycling services.

The Single Stream Recycling program allows residents to recycle the following items conveniently and easily:
-Plastic bottles & containers #1-#7
-Newspapers & inserts
-Magazines/Catalogs & inserts
-Phone Books, Hard/Soft Back books
-Office/Copy paper (white, colored, green bar)
-Miscellaneous paper (junk mail, etc.)
-Cardboard & paperboard
-Brown paper bags
-Aluminum Foil & Trays (CLEANED)
-Tin & Aluminum containers (with caps & lids)

NOT ACCEPTED (included, but not limited to):
-Glass
-Plastic bags
-Styrofoam
-Electronics
-Any used items contaminated with food or waste

This interactive tool from the City’s Environmental Services helps residents:
  • Learn what materials are accepted in the blue recycling bin.
  • Find drop-off or special collection locations for items that don’t go in the bin.
  • Understand how to properly prepare items for recycling or disposal.

The City of Gering Landfill accepts uncontaminated used oil during their normal business hours - Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 2:30 pm. For more information call (308) 436-7568.

The Nebraska Used Oil Collection and Reuse Program ensures all Nebraskans can dispose of oil properly. Used oil collected through the program will be reused, recovered for energy, used in asphalt applications, or re-fined.
